Visitor Visas for the Following Countries
Country Guide
Requirements differ more than most people expect. Here is what to know before you start, destination by destination.
A Temporary Resident Visa covers tourism, visiting family and short business trips. Approved applicants are commonly issued a multiple-entry visa, with each individual stay normally limited to six months and the officer at the port of entry setting the exact period.
What matters most: demonstrable funds, a clear reason to return home, and a travel purpose that matches your documents. Biometrics are required for most applicants and are given at a Visa Application Centre after the online application is submitted.
The B-2 category covers tourism, visiting relatives and medical treatment. The DS-160 form must be completed accurately before an appointment can be booked, and almost every applicant attends an in-person interview at the Embassy or Consulate.
What matters most: interview preparation and consistency. Appointment waiting times vary widely by post and season, so this is the destination where applying early makes the biggest difference. Approvals often allow multiple entries over several years.
The Standard Visitor visa covers tourism, family visits and a defined list of permitted business activities. Most visitors are granted up to six months per visit. You apply online and then attend a biometrics appointment.
What matters most: financial evidence. Funds are assessed closely for whether they are genuinely available to you and consistent with your declared income, so unexplained deposits shortly before applying tend to draw scrutiny.
A Schengen visa allows up to 90 days of travel within any 180-day period across the Schengen countries. You apply through the embassy of your main destination, or of your first point of entry where the trip is split evenly.
What matters most: travel medical insurance meeting the required minimum coverage is mandatory, and confirmed accommodation plus flight reservations are normally requested. Choosing the wrong embassy to apply through is a common and avoidable rejection reason.
Subclass 600 covers tourism and visiting family. Applications are lodged online and, in most cases, decided without an interview. Grants commonly permit stays of three, six or twelve months.
What matters most: a well-documented genuine temporary stay. Health examinations may be requested depending on your circumstances, intended length of stay and where you have lived.
A New Zealand visitor visa generally permits stays of up to nine months within an 18-month period, for tourism or visiting family and friends. Applications are lodged online.
What matters most: Immigration New Zealand assesses genuine intent, sufficient funds, and health and character requirements, and may request further evidence mid-assessment. Responding quickly to those requests keeps the file moving.
Brazil’s VIVIS visitor visa covers tourism, family visits and business meetings that do not involve paid work in Brazil. Applications are made online with supporting documents uploaded.
What matters most: requirements differ noticeably by nationality, and some passports are visa-exempt entirely. We confirm exactly where you stand before you pay for anything.
Validity periods, permitted stays, fees and document requirements are set by each government and can change without notice. The guidance above is general and does not account for your nationality or personal circumstances. We confirm exactly what applies to you during your consultation, and visa issuance remains the sole discretion of the respective embassy.
Your Documents
Almost every visitor visa file is built from the same eight foundations. What changes is the detail each destination expects.
Machine-readable and valid well beyond your travel dates, with blank pages for the visa label. Previous passports help evidence your travel history.
Recent colour photographs meeting the exact size, background and headroom rules of your destination. We check these before submission.
Personal bank statements covering recent months, showing a steady balance rather than a large deposit made just before applying.
An employer letter confirming salary and approved leave, or your trade licence, ownership documents and company statements if self-employed.
Flight reservations and a day-by-day plan that matches your stated purpose and the funds you have shown.
Hotel bookings covering the full stay, or an invitation letter with your host's status documents and address proof.
Marriage, birth or relationship certificates where you are travelling as a family or visiting relatives abroad.
A clear letter explaining who you are, why you are travelling, how the trip is funded and what brings you back. We draft this with you.
